For freelancers who invoice through Stripe

Get paid without writing the awkward “just following up” emails.

Connect Stripe with a read-only key. PlainPost shows you every reminder before the first one goes out, then sends them on day 3, 7 and 14 with Stripe’s own pay link.

$1 holds your spot and comes off your first month ($12 per month). Starts by October 28, 2026. If we don’t launch, we refund the $1.

Example with made-up names and numbers

Why it’s different

  • You see every email first

Before anything is sent, PlainPost shows the exact reminders it would send and to whom. Nothing goes out until you say yes.

  • Stops the moment Stripe says paid

Each reminder carries Stripe’s hosted pay link. When the invoice is paid, the next reminder is cancelled.

  • Read-only access to Stripe

A restricted key that can read invoices and customers. It can’t charge, refund or change anything.

“If you are not careful, it will send out emails on your behalf that you didn’t mean for it to send.”

For comparison: a published comparison of invoice-reminder tools lists PaidNice at US$19/month and InvoiceSherpa at US$49/month (checked 28 September 2026). Source.

How it works

  1. Connect Stripe3 minutes

Create a restricted, read-only key in Stripe (we show you the exact boxes to tick) and paste it in.

  2. Check the preview2 minutes

See every reminder PlainPost would send today: who, which invoice, what it says. Edit the wording once.

  3. Say yesThat’s it

Reminders go out on day 3, 7 and 14 after the due date, signed with your name. Replies come straight to you.

Setup takes under 5 minutes.

Questions, and honest limits

Can it touch my money?

No. The Stripe key it uses can only read invoices and customers. It can’t charge, refund, cancel or edit anything.

Will it send something I didn’t expect?

Not without your yes. You approve the reminder plan before the first send, and you can switch to “approve each one” at any time.

What happens when a client pays?

The next reminder is cancelled as soon as Stripe marks the invoice paid. Paid invoices never get another email.

Does it work with QuickBooks, Xero or FreshBooks?

Stripe only at launch. If you invoice elsewhere, join the waitlist and tell us which tool.

Does it charge late fees or send final demands?

No. It sends polite reminders only, never late fees, legal language or collection notices. PlainPost is not a debt collector.

Can I run it myself instead?

Yes. A one-time download that runs on your own computer is available separately. This page is for the version we run for you.

What does the $1 reservation do?

It holds your spot and comes off your first month. PlainPost Reminders starts for you by October 28, 2026. If we don’t launch by then, we refund the $1 without you having to ask. Want out before then? Reply to your receipt.

Privacy, in plain words

  • We keep: your invoice list from Stripe (who, how much, due date, paid or not) and the reminder wording you approve.
  • The Stripe key is read-only and you can revoke it in Stripe at any time.
  • Client emails are used only to send your reminders, never for anything else.
  • We don’t sell or share your data, and there are no ad trackers on this page.
  • Delete your account and everything goes with it.
